Life-A Fairy in Disguise !!!!

I have been thinking for a long time about this very famous saying, "Whatever happens, happens for the best !! "This is probably the most run-of-the-mill phrase used by all of us and we should give the credit to our great ancestors for passing on these golden words to us. Untill a few months ago , I never believed in those words. For me , these words were the easiest excuse for every failure and every compromise that came my way. In other words I was tired of hearing the same phrase for every 'faux pas' of my life and every other 'not so pleasant' event that happened to me. But then one very fine evening, when I was enjoying solitude and thinking about 'Within Y's' song 'Lost in Solitude', I was awakened to the biggest truth of life....." Whatever happens, happens for the best !! "

I have realised how important is every unfortunate event for me. Had I never got a chance to meet the wrong people in the wrong places I would have never become so thoughtful and so sensible in my life. I do believe that every dark cloud has a silver lining to it and every doomed event is a lesson that life teaches you. In our lives, we either meet people whom we like or we meet people whom we do not want to be like. Its equally important to meet people whom we do not like as its only then we realise that those are the wrong people for us, But they may be the right ones for the other set of wrong people around them. Sometimes when you analyse your past you will realise how important failures, betrayals and sorrows were for you to be what you are today. And for all those people who have a feel of superiority in them and feel they are lucky enough to be untouched by traumas and failures, should be left in their own sweet kingdom to enjoy their throne . The difficult times in each man's life is a self evaluating tool prepared by nature for mortals. There has been a constant effort by the almighty to make every man special by testing them with hard times. All we need to do is take advantage of being the intelligent animal and find out the hidden treasure in every possible trauma. Am not here for making every one feel that we are in a fairy land and our life will be picture perfect everytime we face a crisis but I am making an effort to make every one think that what would have they been if they would have never been tested by life. Probably some of us would say that we would have been happier than today but to this the only and only answer would also be an equally famous phrase " The grass is always greener on the other side !!!".

Cupid --- The Innocent Prankster !!!!

Come February and love seems to be in the air. People around you suddenly seem to be the victims of cupid's arrow and get restless to be with their loved ones and every other person becomes a poet.As I just got enlightened that Mr.Cupid was the son of Venus (goddess of love) and Mars (god of war), and in the Greek version he was the son of Aphrodite and was named Eros. Mr.Cupid was in love with Miss.Psyche and together they had a daughter, Voluptas (pleasure)...Phewwww.......I never knew Cupid too had a family . After knowing this fact, I so want him to spend more time with his family rather than keep hurting people with his pink feathery cute looking arrow as it makes people bleed to death most of the times. So next time I meet Mr.Cupid , I would take him out and get him introduced to some of my friends who are still recovering from his attacks. Am pretty sure that Mr.Cupid too was a student of Havard Business School as he has his own business strategies and different means of defending himself. Mr.Cupid comes blindfolded, as in the expression "love is blind" and does the devastation. He uses his own strategies of attacking the innocent people and making them believe that he would be with them forever, But elopes as soon as the innocent wounded starts believing in him. Mr.Cupid is so fickle, playful, and perverse. I would really want him to wear some clothes and be a good partner to Madame Phyche and spend more love and time with her . Also I would request Mr.Cupid to stop playing with hearts and rather join the Hindi Film Industry which is otherwise known as Bollywood for directing a perfect Love story as thats the only place where love can be potrayed as perfect .

Recession - A Teacher in Disguise

With the word "Recession" being the most frequently used term these days , I finally managed to understand what exactly it means. In economics, the term recession generally describes the reduction of a country's gross domestic product(GDP) for at least two quaters. The usual dictionary definition is "a period of reduced economic activity", a business cycle contraction. Without getting too deep into the macro economics and strategies ,I did understand that this is a phase in which we need to spend less and save more. With this enlightment, I promised myself to refrain from shopping and rather indulge in self realisation by spending more time in solace and detaching myself from the materialistic pleasures. In other words I promised myself to reduce my frequent visits to shopping malls, theaters, restaurants, beauty salons and to all such destinations which could burn my pocket. But as always the forbidden apple is the most tempting fruit to eat. I convinced myself to accept the challenge of going out with friends and still not burning holes in my pocket. Finally with all the convincing I stepped out and suddenly the most familiar malls in the town looked as if they were coaxing me for betraying them. The best part was the "End of the Season Sales" with upto 70% Off on all most everything.Suddenly the malls looked like vicious circle and I was completely lost....But I must say true friends are those who discourage you to buy even the best of brands at the best deal. And the best of best friends are those who predict and convince you that the discounts are going to last for ever and you can come back next month for availing them. So, I with all my heart and mind thank all my true friends who convinced me that shopping can take a back seat for now and I happily came out of the vicious circle with just a pair of shoes and some accesories!!! Recession has indeed taught all of us a lot of things. We value money even more now and we know that we can sustain even when situations are tough .We have learnt how to prioritise things and this is probably a graduating phase for a many people like me who never thought twice before spending!!!!
